Here’s my latest illustration for my Peter Pan project with Leyton Parker— this is my spot illustration for Chapter 9, the Neverbird. This week Leyton did a stunning action scene for his chapter illustration. For my accompanying spot illustration, I decided to do just a simple scientific illustration of the Neverbird in his natural environment. I originally thought of basing the Neverbird on an elaborately feathered bird of paradise, but in the end decided to base her look off of some of my favorite island birds— like the Australian brush turkey, and the extinct Reunion solitaire.
